FAIX, JOSEPH L., COL. (RET.) a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the age of 68. He is survived by his girlfriend, Andrea Ricciardi, of Albuquerque; and son Chris Faix; daughter-in-law Josie Faix; and grandchildren Jack and Lola Faix, all of Denver, CO. Col. Faix was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Gertrude Faix; his brother, John Faix, and son, Mark Faix. A graduate of the Air Force Academy (’66), he had a distinguished career as a pilot, squadron commander, test pilot, and instructor. After his Air Force retirement, Col. Faix put his test and evaluation skills to good use as a government contractor. He was a loving and generous father, grandfather, boyfriend, and friend to many. “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die” (Thomas Campbell). A memorial visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2012 and a memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012. Both services will be held at French – Lomas, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. He will be interred at the Air Force Academy Cemetery at a later date.
