EGLINTON, THOMAS WILLIAM Thomas, age 88, died Friday, November 16, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cathryn; children, William and wife, Paula, Dr. Daniel and wife, Andrea of Asheville, NC, Janet Tooker and husband, Tom; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Jeanette Preketes and husband, Nicholas. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Alvina and Elmer Eglinton; sister, Helen; and brother, Bob. After serving in the US Navy in WWII, Thomas and Cathryn were married in Panama and later moved to Albuquerque, where he became a Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor, retiring from Sandia National Labs in 1986. He was a devout Lutheran, who taught Sunday school and bible classes and wrote Christian poetry. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, spending time at their mountain retreat in Pecos, NM and the companionship of numerous dogs. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:30 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 Alvarado Dr. SE. Private burial took place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Thomas’ memory to Lutheran World Relief in care of Redeemer Lutheran Church. FRENCH 1111 University Blvd NE 505-843-6333
