Obituary for COLEMAN

COLEMAN, R.H. &Quot;HERB&Quot; Age 81, of Rio Rancho, NM passed away suddenly on December 20, 2012. Herb was born in Citrus County, Florida on July 12, 1931 and grew up in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He spent much of his life in Amarillo, Texas, Berrien Springs and Savannah, Georgia. The last six years he has lived in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Herb served proudly in the United States Air Force in the early fifties and was a Korean War Veteran. Herb worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for thirty years. He cherished his memberships at the Elks Lodge, The American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. Herb never met a stranger and always liked to visit with his Lodge friends, his neighbors, and his family. Herb was preceded in death by his wife Maurita Coleman; by his son Craig Coleman and daughter-in-law, LaJuana Coleman of Placitas, NM; sisters Gwendolyn Susie Murphy of Naples, FL, Patricia McLaughlin of Savannah, GA, Cindy Sutton of Charleston, SC; brothers Hugh Coleman of Atlanta, GA , Bert Coleman of Woodstock GA and Stephen Coleman of Tybee Island, GA. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at Boxwell Brothers in Amarillo, Texas with burial at Llano Cemetery. In addition, a celebration of Herb’s life will take place on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Rio Rancho, New Mexico Elks Lodge at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the charity of choice
