CUTLER, RUTH G. April 11, 1916 – February 18, 2013 Ruth was born on a farm outside of Frankfort, Illinois. She had fond memories of her time spent teaching all ages in a one room school house in Will County, Illinois. She married Earl Cutler in 1938 and became a vital part of his business which became Cutler Repaving, Inc. of Lawrence, Kansas. She was the church organist in Palos Park, Illinois. Ruth had great love for and pride in her family: daughter Darlene Bohm (husband Arno) of Austin, Texas; son Doug (wife Martha) of Albuquerque; son-in-law Lowell and wife Linda of Lawrence, Kansas; grandchildren Mark Almon (wife Eileen), Lisa Almon, Daniel Wiley (wife Meggan) and Susan Wiley. She had four great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews; and even “great, great greats”. She was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Almon. Ruth showed her love of family by cooking. Even at age 96, she baked the family favorites, snowballs and pecan rolls. She was an avid birder and a skilled crossword puzzler. In Austin, Ruth was a long time volunteer for Reading for the Blind and a frequent concert goer. Ruth relocated to Albuquerque in 2003. She loved walking the ditches with the family dogs and she loved seeing the roadrunners, cranes and all valley wildlife. She was a life long learner, always interested in birds, words, recipes, music, books, people. She greatly appreciated her good friends and neighbors at Cimino Compound. As she wished, her remains are donated to UNM Medical School and no service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, if desired please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
