Obituary for BACHECHI

BACHECHI, THELMA nee Lommori, passed away peacefully January 14, 2013 at age 96. Thelma spent most of her long life in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bachechi; and her parents, Augustin and Filomena Lommori. She is survived by her sister, Norma Shirley; niece, Dena Doyle; and many friends. For many years, Thelma shared a home with her sister, Norma. They were as close as any sisters could ever be, two “peas in a pod.” Around the kitchen table, they entertained friends with wonderful recollections of growing up in Albuquerque. Thelma had a prodigious memory and Norma would ask her to elaborate on all the stories, often with humor and laughter. Thelma was a kind and trusting soul with warmth and charm. She would want to cook a special meal, often Italian, for anyone she met and liked. She was related to many of the prominent Italian families who settled in Albuquerque generations ago, for the most part coming from Tuscany and the town of Lucca, or nearby. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is planned at a later date. Should they wish, friends of Thelma may contribute to the Animal Humane Society, 9132 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111 or a charity of their choice. SANMARTIN-GONZALES, CHRISTOPHER Today is the eight year anniversary of the passing of our beloved son, Christopher. Our broken hearts will never be healed from the pain we continue to feel from your absence from our lives. As the years pass I often imagine what life would be like if you were still here with us. How many children you would have. And every time my eyes fill with tears and I ask the Lord “why”. Dad, brother and I cling to each other for comfort and peace. Son, know that you’re forever in our hearts, love and miss you very much. Dad, mom, brother Jacob and baby girl Marisa.
