ZINGARELLO, ROCCO V. A long time New Mexico resident, Rocco .V. Zingarello passed away on Monday April 15th at the age of 91. He was a former Army Sergeant in World War II serving with the 330th combat engineering battalion. He served his country and company helping to build the Stillwell Road, and leading security and manned recon patrols night. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, he moved to Estancia in 1985 then to Albuquerque. He leaves behind his son Mark and wife Cynthia Zingarello in NC; daughter Lee and husband Patrick Roberds in VA; and four grandchildren.

BAYLESS, BETTY Age 90, of Farmington, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Farmington. She was born February 13, 1923 in Manchester, England to Eva and Louie Cohen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Bayless, and her parents, Eva and Louie Cohen. She is survived by her son, Michael (Susanna); and daughter Betty (Toots) Meyers. She married her husband, Martin, in England during WWII. After the war she came to the US with her husband. Together they had two children and later five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. GORMAN, BOB Many people strive to, “make a difference.” It is such a common idea it is a fundamental story line in books, plays, operas, and movies. On April 15th, at the age of 77, Robert Harold Gorman died. Born in Weehawken, NJ on December 31st 1935, he made a difference. A self-educated certified engineer in the fields of electronic, mechanical, chemical and robotic engineering Robert Gorman is listed as inventor on at least 11 patents ranging from robotics to weapons detection systems, self-illuminating shower heads and roller coasters. A US Marine, a SCUBA diver, a published photographer when it meant something, a pilot of 120+MPH RC planes, a lover of art and life he communicated openly and freely with everyone and anyone wherever his motorcycle rides would take him. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Robert M. Gorman, Thomas A. Gorman, and Gregory K. Gorman and his wife Phoenix. HEIMERICH, DENIS A. Died on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne (Perry) Heimerich; parents, John and Audrey Heimerich; and brother, Lynn Heimerich. Denis is survived by his wife, Kimberly; sons, Russ Heimerich and wife Valerie of Sacramento, CA, Bruce and wife Cynthia of San Diego, CA; and daughter, Janine Heimerich of Deer Harbor, WA. Denis was a graduate of the University of New Mexico and the University of Illinois. Following his Air Force career, Denis was an executive in the cable television industry. GOTTLIEB, NAOMI Died April 21, 2013, after a long and happy life. Born Naomi Ruth Sanchez on September 5, 1921 to Frank C. Sanchez and Veneranda Sanchez nee Chavez, she lived her early years in the Five Points area of Albuquerque’s South Valley. Although her family relocated to Cubero, New Mexico, she attended New Mexico’s earliest boarding schoolsHarwood, Allison James, and Menauland attended the University of New Mexico for a year. After marrying Bill Garcia she moved with him to Los Angeles; she was widowed when he was shot down over Italy during WWII. Naomi continued her college education at UCLA and earned a degree in English with a minor in history, and began teaching school in Indio, CA. During that time, the young man who had taken her on her first date, fellow Cubero resident Robert Gottlieb, began writing to her while he served in the Pacific. The relationship continued after his return, and Robert and Naomi were married September 4, 1950. They spent their lives together running a cattle ranch near Grants, New Mexico, where they raised three daughters and Naomi taught English. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Veneranda Sanchez; her stepmother, Maria Inez Sanchez; her siblings, Lionel, Lena (Davenport), Elam (her twin brother), Cora (Armijo) and Joseph and Naomi’s husband, Robert Gottlieb. She is survived by her three daughters, Vicky Lynne, Gail, her husband Michael Minturn and their children, Jessica Naomi Singer and Michael Scott Minturn; and Roberta and her children, Arielle, Austin, and Sideara Weisgrau; nieces and nephews, Caroline Butler, Ted Armijo, Clifford, Frank, and Tomas Sanchez; and great grandson, Lionel Carlos Singer. She was part of the Greatest Generation and lived a long and satisfying life. She raised peacocks, ducks, and geese; she loved gardening, books, oil and china painting, music and her dogs. She cherished her family and friends. She will be missed, but we all feel fortunate to have been a part of her life, and as her daughters, to have had her as our Mother. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, 1:30 p.m. at FRENCH-Wyoming. Burial will take place in the Grants Memorial Park Cemetery in Grants, NM.
