ALESSANDRONE, ARMAND JR. Age 63, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014. Born and raised in Waterbury, CT, Armand and his wife relocated to New Mexico where they raised their four girls. In 2010, Armand retired from PNM after 31 years of service and, with his wife moved to the mountains of Chama, NM. He was light-hearted, charismatic, and had a zest for life. He enjoyed numerous interests, all of which he pursued with passion. Armand was very active and throughout his lifetime he finished several full and half marathons. He loved cooking homemade Italian food and making wine with his friends and family. He cherished spending time with his family and loved to laugh. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, and exceptional man. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Mary and Armand Alessandrone Sr; brother, Ernest Alessandrone; and sister, Rosemarie DeSocio. Armand is survived by wife Joanne Alessandrone; his children, Corinne Maynes and husband Raymond; Audra Gonzales and husband Richard; Stephanie Alessandrone, and Kristina Alessandrone; his precious grandchildren, Aaron Earle, Jaid Maestas and Eric, Lucas Earle, Tierra Earle, Tristan Gonzales, and Saryn Gonzales; one great- granddaughter Layla Maestas. Also surviving are his sisters, Angela Donovan and husband Jerry; Annette Williams and husband David; mother in law, Agnes Robert; sisters in law, Sharon Mansfield and husband Richard; Joyce True and husband Howard; and Gail Corriveau and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Armand will be greatly missed by his loving family and those whose hearts he touched. DOMME, KATHRYN MERCEDES known to her family and friends as Peachie, passed away on May 2, 2014 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Domme; her parents, Thomas and Lillian Kennedy of Topeka, Kansas; and her daughter-in-law Susan Domme. Peachie is survived by her brother, Ret Gen Thomas Kennedy and wife Ruth; her sister Frances “Dollie” Petr; and by her five sons: Craig, Fr. Edward Domme, Dan and wife Colleen, Tom and wife Martha, and Jack and wife Karen; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Peachie was born in Emmett, Kansas on March 29, 1925. In 1940 her family moved to Topeka, Kansas where she grew up helping in the family grocery store. She graduated from Capital Catholic High School in 1942 and then attended Business College in Topeka. Peachie and Edward were married in 1946 in Topeka and the family moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1948. Together, they raised their five sons and created a full life surrounded by family and many close friends. Peachie and Ed were members of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish from its beginning in 1953 until the present. She was very active at Assumption Church and grade school and later at St. Pius X High School. In 1961 Peachie went to work at Sandia Savings and Loan and retired as an Executive Secretary. She then earned her Real Estate Broker’s license and worked in Real Estate for many years with Hooten & Stahl Realtors. In the 1970′s she owned her own Home Rental and Management Agency until retirement in 1979. Peachie enjoyed bowling, golf, and was well known for her bridge play. She is especially remembered for her loving care of her husband Ed during his long illness preceding his death. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday May 8, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 811 Guaymas NE. AXNESS, HAROLD K. July 28, 1926 – May 4, 2014, lovingly known as the Jolly Green Giant by his family and friends, was born July 28, 1926 in Chicago, IL. He was the only son of Hans K. Axness and Gerta Carlson. Harold is survived by his son Carl Axness and Carl’s wife Anna, their sons Louis, Bjorn and Marvin and daughter Marlene Trujillo; and his daughter Chris Hampton, and Chris’s husband Darrell and daughter Tegan Matthews. Harold is also survived by wife June Axness, the love of his life for the past 45 years; and his stepchildren, Kevin Allen, Kerry Allen, Dan Allen, Lisa Allen Urrea, Molly Ashcraft, Cate Sabatini and Eve Reissman; their spouses and their combined ten children. Harold graduated from Northwestern University in Illinois with a degree in accounting and was a CPA. He moved to Albuquerque, N.M. in 1955 and excelled in running his accounting practice for over 50 years. Harold was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears and he and his wife, a St. Louis cardinals fan, shared many years of friendly and spirited rivalry. But, together they did share their support of the NM Lobos. Harold was also a member of 4 Hills Country Club and had survived most of his golfing cronies. He and his wife loved to travel and enjoyed playing golf on spectacular courses across the country. Together they entertained, raised a large family, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and of course, green and red chili. He and his wife were well known for their posole parties. Harold was admired and loved by many and will be deeply missed. A Mass service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Our Lady of the Annunciation located at 2621 Vermont St. NE, Albuquerque, NM. GROSSOEHME, CLYDE Cmdr, Clyde Grossoehme, 89, died peacefully in his home on May 8th, 2014. He was born to parents Walter and Mathilda Grossoehme in Nemaha, Nebraska on August 22nd, 1924. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Laurene; and his two children, Jeff Grossoehme and Lisa Golden, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his brothers Kenneth Grossoehme of Auburn, Nebraska, Lannon Grossoehme of Coer d’ Alene, Idaho; sister Frances Andrew of Auburrn, Nebraska; and sisters-in-law Doris Stokes of Pampa, FL and Maureen Stillahn of Omaha, NE. He was preceeded in death by four brothers: George, Robert, Wendell and Carl Grossoehme and his sister Eilleen Gurney. Clyde proudly served his country for 28 years in the United States Navy where he saw active duty in the Korean War, WWII, and Vietnam before he retired as Commander. He then worked as Assistant Mananger of Coronado Airport and Manager of 7 Bar Airport, Albuquerque and was an avid pilot himself. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, golf and traveling with his wife. He was a true American and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Thank you for serving our country, Clyde. AMUNDSON, VICTORIA (VICKI) age 61, passed away on May 1, 2014. She grew up in Phoenix, AZ, where she met her surviving husband of 33 yrs, David. Vicki and David moved to Albuquerque in August of 1981, where Vicki loved the change of seasons. Vicki had many jobs working for the phone company (Mountain Bell/Qwest/Dex) and retired after 30 years of service. She loved the outdoors, gardening, cooking, arts and crafts and taking care of the family dog, Maxwell. She was a giving soul with a heart of gold. She was truly loved by her family and touched the hearts of all who met and got to know her. She was preceded by her mother’s death, Vivian Dominguez. She is survived by father Raymond; brothers Norbert, Kenny; and sister Tami. Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held in Phoenix for family on the 17th of May. ALTENBACH, MARILYN Marilyn Altenbach passed away quietly at home among family and friends Thursday afternoon, June 5, 2014. Born Marilyn Belding on May 8, 1947 in Scott’s Bluff, Nebraska, she was raised in nearby Mitchell and later in Pueblo, Colorado. She attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and attained a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. Marilyn moved to Albuquerque in 1972 with her then husband Scott Altenbach and their young son Chris, working in the UNM Biology Department and as a wildlife biologist. She had a special interest in the Jemez Mountain salamander and spotted owls. Although her voice was rarely heard on the radio, Marilyn was well known to music fans for over 40 years as 1/3rd of KUNM-FM’s Home of Happy Feet. An avid musician herself, Marilyn was accomplished on the guitar and concertina and played for many years with the Fabulous Stucco Sisters. She had a big heart, and she lived her life surrounded by a community of loving friends. She will be missed by many, many people. Marilyn is survived by her mother Jean Belding; husband Barry Lauesen; son Chris Altenbach; brother, William Belding; sister-in-law Robbin; nephew Michael, niece Michele; and grandchildren Scott and Eliza. A private memorial gathering will be held for family and close friends.

DE BLASSIE, PAUL A. JR. On June 14, 2014, Heaven welcomed Paul A. DeBlassie, Jr. home. He was born on February 19, 1930 and was preceded in death by his parents, Old Town Pioneers, Paul Sr. and Adela DeBlassie; and his brothers, Donald and Dr. Richard DeBlassie. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School, Paul valiantly served our country as a sergeant in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was awarded the Commendation Medal and Ribbon for his devotion to duty and excellence in accounting. His strong Italian work ethic and influential leadership roles defined an era of his life. He dedicated 25 years to his career at New York Life Insurance. He was a Chartered Life Underwriter and was elected to the prestigious Agents Advisory Council of New York Life. He also served as the President of the NM National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He retired at the age of 81 from Berger Briggs Real Estate and Insurance, Inc. Paul was a lector for Our Lady of Fatima Church. On any given day he could be found feeding the homeless at the Albuquerque Rescue Mission or praying with the jail inmates during prison ministry. He was co-founder of the Southwest Catholic Charismatic Center and for 35 years served as a member of the Board of Directors. Paul is survived by the love of his life for 63 years, Priscilla Sanchez DeBlassie; his six children, Dr. Paul DeBlassie III and his wife, Kathleen DeBlassie, Joanna DeBlassie Boothe and husband, William S. Boothe, Joseph DeBlassie and wife, Cyndee DeBlassie, Ronald DeBlassie, Mark DeBlassie, and wife, Dickcie Wisener DeBlassie, and Kenneth DeBlassie and wife, Staci DeBlassie. He adored his grandchildren, Chris Wisener and wife, Megan, Jason Wisener, Paul DeBlassie IV, Katherine DeBlassie Page, Maria DeBlassie, Victoria DeBlassie, Stephanie Boothe Sponder and husband, Joshua Sponder, Caroline Boothe, Marysa DeBlassie, Joseph DeBlassie II, Julia DeBlassie, Dominic DeBlassie, Zachery DeBlassie, Taylor DeBlassie, Colette DeBlassie, and Ava DeBlassie. EUSTACE, LINDA Linda Eustace, aged 67, died peacefully on June 24, 2014, at home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a brief struggle with health issues. Linda was born on November 11, 1946 and was a member of Cochiti and Zuni Pueblos. She was the daughter of Ben and Felicita Eustace. Linda was a jeweler, painter and author. She loved spending time with friends and talking about life. She attended Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque for a number of years before deciding to go to Calvary Chapel in Nob Hill. She wanted to worship God and Christ at a missionary church that was in the heart of Albuquerque and in a place that needed spiritual support. In 1963 she married the love of her life Robert McCallister Jones the II. She meet him in West Virginia while she was in the Job Corps. They were the proud parents of one son. Linda is survived by mother Felicita Eustace; son Robert Eustace Jones; siblings, Bernadette, Christine, Mary Jane, Jolene, Lambert, Eileen and Denise; many other nieces and nephews. There will be a private viewing for the immediate family, and a public ceremony for friends and family.
