CARTIER, MARCO M. Marco M. Cartier, born in Longbeach, California on March 8, 1953 passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, NM following a long illness on June 26, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacques and Zinaida Cartier. He is survived by three natural children; a stepdaughter; and many friends. Marco will be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

PROO, HENRY Henry Proo passed away Jan, 14, 2014 after a long illness in Calipatria, CA. He was born July 15, 1925 in Denver, CO and married Mary B. Nunes on Nov. 2, 1973. Henry served in the Army Air Force during WWII in the South Pacific. After the war, he worked in the grocery store business until his retirement in 1988. Henry was an extremely active member of his church and helped in the Doves, a support group for the widowed and divorced. Henry was a fan of professional wrestling and football. He enjoyed reading and giving out prayer booklets to all he met. A Catholic funeral Mass was held in Old Town’s Immaculate Conception Church in San Diego, CA. A cremation burial service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery at 10:30 AM July15, 2014 at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Mary B. Nunes, his parents, Richardo and Clarita M. Proo. His four brothers Richard Proo Jr, Maximino Proo, Alfonso Proo Jr, and Joe Trinedad Proo. Henry is survived by his sister Lucy Alvarez, and her five children, Mike, Anne, Anthony, Christy, and Rita; six sons Max Proo, Ernest Proo, Gabriel Proo, Phillip Proo, Mario Proo, Michael Proo and his daughter-in-law Cass Proo; step-children Mary E. Martinez, Yolanda Mattison, and Michael Nunes; and his care-taking grandchildren Sarah J. Proo, Ernest E. Proo, Susie M. Proo, Cassandra M. Proo; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

VIGIL, LAZARO (LAZ) Age 40, he was born on July 8, 1974 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and passed away July 10, 2014. He leaves behind his daughter Vanessa Vigil; his father and mother Abel and Mary Vigil; sisters Shelia Arceo, Raqual Vigil and Christina Vigil; also many cousins, nieces and nephews. He graduated from Espanola High School and joined the Army. He studied at ITT Technical Institute and received his Associates Degree. His family and friends will cherish all the great memories spent together. Service were at the New Mexico Central Baptist Association, 12078 State Highway 14 N., Cedar Crest, NM 87008, on July 16, 2014 at 11:00AM.

BLESSING, LARRY DEAN &Quot;D.B.&Quot; M.D. Our beloved Larry Blessing “DB” went Home to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Larry was born in Bethany, Missouri to William Vodra and Lenora Bernice (Salmon) Blessing on October 23, 1942. Larry married Mary Jane Cox in 1959 and graduated with honors from Harrison High School in 1960. He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology and earned a Medical Doctor’s degree from University of Missouri, Columbia in 1974. He attended the University of Kansas from 1974 through 1977 for his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine. Following that, he returned to the University of Missouri for a Fellowship in Gastroenterology from 1977-1978. Larry was a dedicated doctor to his patients, loved being a physician and truly enjoyed his many years of practice. Those who worked with Dr. Blessing adored and admired him and were his dearest friends. He began blessing and saving lives in Albany, Missouri, continued his career in Morgantown, West Virginia and ultimately moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he finished his career as Chief Gastroenterologist at Lovelace Medical Center. After a long and satisfying career, Dr. Blessing retired in 1999 and within the same year became accepted as a member of The National Registry Of Who’s Who. Larry’s heart was remarkably big as he was a dear brother, husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and surrogate to those who needed a father. Larry had a grand sense of humor and wouldn’t watch a movie without a bucket of buttered popcorn by his side. Larry spent his retirement years serving and loving his church family. Larry loved gardening and fondly reminisced on his years as a farmer; his tomatoes, sweet corn and green chile were unbeatable. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Janet Blessing; his children, Christopher (Debbie) Blessing, Roxanna (Larry) Braaten, Paul (Sharon) Blessing, Brian Blessing, Samantha (Michael) Gabaldon and Chris (Lori) Partain; as well as 13 grandchildren; one great- grandchild and another Blessing expected to arrive next year. Larry D. Blessing was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leta (Blessing) Landes; brother, Charles Blessing; sister, Beverly (Blessing) Shipers; and nephew, Gregory Blessing. Our quiet, funny and sweet “DB” will always hold a special place in our hearts. COBLE, DOROTHY MAE Age 86. She stepped into the open arms of Jesus on July 30, 2014. Dorothy was born in Coalgate, OK on September 17, 1927 to Grady & Eula Knight. While attending college, she met J.D. Together they farmed and ranched in OK and SD. They moved to Albuquerque to be near family in 2008. She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, J.D.; her sons Jerry, Bob, and Roger; Roger’s wife Linda; granddaughters Amy, Hayley, and Callie; Amy’s husband Bryan; great-grandchildren Coleton and Tinsley; a brother R.B. Knight; and numerous beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. She could sew a shirt, structure an annuity, feed a harvest crew, take shorthand dictation, pick cotton, stare you down and play with babies. She loved her family, her church and education, returning to college to earn her degree at the age of forty- five. Her welcoming personality would fill up a room, a home, or a heart. AMBROSINI, DALE BRYAN As the afternoon began on Sunday, August 3, 2014, Dale Bryan Ambrosini was called home by the Lord. Although his heart belonged to the mountains of western Colorado, he also loved his many years in Albuquerque as well as his childhood home in northern California. Dale was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, and loving husband, father, and friend. He was met at heaven’s gates by his father, Rollin, and his mother, Helene (Toddy). He is survived by his wife, Karen; his brother, Lowell; his sons, Lee, Brian and Mark; his daughter, Shanna; his grandchildren, Amanda, Kevin, Bryan, Dale, Aaron, Amanda, and Ashley; his nephew, Mike; his nieces, Carrie and Traci; his sister-in-law, Joyce; and his daughters-in-law, Sherrie and Jackie. ALMODOVA, AMANDA MARIE (MONDY) Amanda Marie Alomodova (Mondy) was born November 28, 1948. Mons was a lover of life and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Lupe. She is survived by her daughters Celice and Francesca (Carlos); grandchildren Cristian, Brianna, Alyssis, Asya and Avionis; her sister and best friend Rosemary (Al); brothers Sonny (Paula) and Jerry (Marcella); and sister Anna (Nick). Mons is also survived by many nieces and nephews; her goddaughter Renee Dominguez and partner in life Richard Baca. Mondy loved the outdoors, Dallas Cowboys and desserts! She was a member of The American Post Legion 100. Mons was a people person! No matter who she met after talking to her you knew you had a friend for life! A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Monday, August 25th at 9:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Griegos. Reception to follow at the Post 100 on Candelaria at 11:00 am. BELLMAN, WALTER Walter Bellman, Albuquerque resident since 1995, passed away on August 20, 2014. Born in Vienna Austria on May 28, 1928, he immigrated to the US in 1938 at the age of 10. He grew up and received his education in Bronx, New York. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a minor in statistics from the City College of New York, he chose to work in the new field of Computing. In 1959 he and his family (wife Louise and two young boys) moved to the Los Angeles area where he embarked on his long career as a computer programmer/analyst. After living in California for eight years during which time a third son was born, Walter received a job assignment in the Washington DC area. The family then settled in Sterling, Virginia where they would remain for 27 years until Walter’s retirement in 1993. Walter Bellman was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge particularly in the areas of science, mathematics and history. He and wife Louise shared a strong passion for music and traveling. Walter Bellman was preceded in death by his parents Adolf and Genia Bellman. He is survived by wife Louise (nee Prinz); his sons Christopher J. Leighton, David A. Bellman (Ingrid Fischer), Charles P. Bellman; and granddaughter Lilly A. Bellman. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in the La Vida Llena retirement community Chapel, 10501 Lagrima de Oro Road, Albuquerque 87111. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the charitable organization of your choice would serve as a tribute to Walter Bellman’s enthusiastic support for numerous charitable causes.
